On January 30, near Hongdae, we gathered.
Our first offline TTMIK meetup of 2026 happened on January 30, near Hongdae in Seoul. The title was simple and exciting: “TTMIK Seoul Meetup: January.”
With the TTMIK crew, special guests, and learners all together, we had 50 people in the room.

Highlight #1: Three teachers talks that gave us real direction 🎤
We had three wonderful sessions, each offering a different (and super practical) perspective on improving your Korean.
- “Is Your Ear Ready for Korean?” — Teacher Didi (@didikoreanpodcast)
- “Learn Korean with Stories and Images” — Teacher Saehee (@toontoon_korean)
- “Why classrooms still matter: the backbone of Korean learning” — Professor Ahn Jaerin
One big message everyone shared: It’s not about studying harder.
It’s about studying smarter, more consistently, and in a way you can actually keep doing.

Highlight #2: Mini presentations by 3 of our learners
This time, learners also had a chance to do short presentations.
Different backgrounds, different goals, but their passion for Korean was just as strong.
Big shout-out to our three courageous learners for jumping in and presenting their stories to the whole room! Thank you so much!

Highlight #3: The TTMIK meetup signature: networking that flies by 🤝
And of course… the part we all love: networking that’s so fun, you forget to check the time.
It’s amazing how quickly people connect when Korean is the shared interest.
- swapping study routines
- sharing favorite resources (videos, books, stories)
- saying your next goal

💎 Every Meetup Feels So Special
Offline meetups are always special for us.
We get to meet learners face-to-face and have deeper, more meaningful conversations, not just about Korean, but about learning Korean in real life.
We’re genuinely excited for these moments.
Always have been, and we always will be.
